Description: Stormwater drainage basins in the City of Bellevue, WA, are based on both the topography of the land and the engineered storm water structures that drain the area. The natural topographic land units reflect how precipitation falls across a landscape and how it moves under the influence of gravity, to generate a surface flow. The engineered storm water structures can drain areas of land outside of a natural topographic watershed boundary and collect runoff. The topographic boundary is then extended outward to incorporate these areas into the receiving watershed.
